RE: Potential Mayweather-McGregor numbers.
Canelo would have killed the McGregor that showed up on Saturday.
Half-way joking too. NSAC should have never sanctioned this fight, and shouldn't sanction that one either. All heart. That's what most little guys are. But that counts for a lot. In the gym or the ring all you gotta do is get up one more time than the other guy thinks you can. - Gabrielle Calvocoressi http://www.wanderingpugilist.com |

RE: Potential Mayweather-McGregor numbers.
If UFC fighters jumped ship, who do you think would be successful boxers? Def the Diaz Brothers.. TJ Dillashaw... Jorge Masvidal... KJ Noons boxed... i always liked Andre Arlovski.. Dom Cruz.. Junior Dos Santos.. Frankie Edgar.. I also loved Marcus Davis "The Irish Handgrenade"...
idk, maybe this is a convo for just me, ATN and WAR..lol. |

McGregor was gassed. Had he made it to the end of the 10th the walk to his stool wouldve tkoed him

RE: Potential Mayweather-McGregor numbers.
Conor doesn't have the fitness for a boxing ring. His punches lost sting by the 4th and his legs done by the 6th without it being a high paced or heated fight either.
Mayweather could have fought his usual style and would have made Conor look even more ordinary. Had Mayweather come out like he did against Ortiz fighting a little bit more on the front foot he would have gotten Conor clean and earlier. Floyd fought down to McGregor to make things more entertaining but also to justify the bout to begin with. I feel there may have been more backlash had Mayweather beaten him easily/early. |

RE: Potential Mayweather-McGregor numbers.
To be fair he came out of retirement to fight an awkward style. I think he needed a couple of rounds to get his timing back

Yep.
No question. A man with no amateur experience or professional boxing matches was not to be taken lightly. He needed to tire out first. |

RE: Potential Mayweather-McGregor numbers.
His strategy going into it was rope a doping McGregor. He absorbed that shitty, off balance wide open hurricane and took it to him right before the doc gave McGregor an iv for dehydration. But you know, sometimes records are meant to be broken. When you're the best you beat the best. Ali would've made it an exhibition fight but Ali never made 100 mil a fight. TBE TMT.
