RE: Politics Unfiltered
Man, I hope they know what they're doing. I haven't read too many positive reviews about this bill. Here is what a friend of mine posted:
"This shit is a disaster and could legitimately upend the party First off the optics are uniquely terrible. The gop, using every tactic they bitched about in drafting the aca, is still unable to reach a consensus even w daddy flailing around lazily trying to corral them The bill itself is a nightmare. If they rip out the EHBs to make the dipshit freedom caucus happy itll blow the cbo deficit numbers up to a staggering degree. Providers would need to offer a new bargain bin option that does NOTHING because the cost of current plans could double or triple. The lack of EHBs will send premiums even higher for legitimate plans (that actually cover, you knkw, dodtor and emergency visits and prescription drugs). So you'll have millions getting the minimal, craptastic coverage that does nothing just so they can get the tax credit. And thats going to mean people are going to have "coverage" -- but the cost is going to skyrocket for the federal government to cover the tax credit for these ppl who are getting the bargain bin plan and would have been uninsured otherwise. So this shit wouldnt even fix its main goal, lowering premiums and curtailing the deficit. But that doesnt matter because even the moderate gopers see thats a tremendously unwise decision I am fucking pissed because im the only soner here who actually uses the marketplace, and because of the gop clouding its future, ive already lost my provider in my state (humana). They couldnt even get the trading over state lines into the house bill. So unless something happens im going to be stuck with an extravagantly priced plan via bcbs and about $1200 more a yr in expenses, all w no tax credit that trump promised me Death spiral here we come" |
