He told me he only had 2 weeks notice for that fight).Snoop Wrote:I have a D3100 with that standard Nikkor lens that came with it. I've been looking to grab another lens or two though. I liked the 1080p capability of the D3100, though it doesn't shoot video the same as the Canon's do.Spyder Wrote:Great work Nick. Really, I mean it. The photos on your site are impressive. And the fighting preacher story was put together really well.Yeah what a fucking asshole. Camera: D80 Lens: 18-135 kit lens Exposure: 1/80sec @ f/ 5.6 Focal Length: 18mm ISO: 100 The one of the guy in the shower is: Camera: D80 Lens: 18-135 kit lens Exposure: 1/160sec @ f/3.5 Focal Length: 18mm ISO: 800 I used a flash for the second one, but I don't have the data for it. The D3100 is a solid camera, I think it replaced the D40, which is the camera I started with. I recently put up captions to the photos, and anything that was taken in Nicaragua or Honduras was taken with a D40 and a kit lens. The only downside is that the autofocus motor is not in the camera body so you're limited in your lens choices. I think you can use any lens that is a AF-S, but most of the nice ones are pretty pricey. I think they have a 50mm f/1.4 that is an AF-S for a decent price. That lens definitely upped my ability to take pictures and it's a solid lens. But I guess it really depends on what you're interested in shooting, so let me know. All heart. I'll be in Brazil for at least 9 months (that's how much the Fulbright is funding me for), but to be honest, I'm going to try my best to stay through until the 2016 Olympics. In my other life I'm a commercial real estate broker/property manager and I specialize in vacation stays. I'm trying to see if I can work some kind of deal with some apartment owners over there to converting their places as vacation rentals for the major events. Might work out, might not. We'll see. But if you're ever in the area when I'm there, I'd be more than happy to meet up. I like your idea of starting up some boxing clubs over in NZ. I'm all about spreading the sport. Maybe we can connect on that instead of the fallen Man-God of the Philippines. All heart. That's what most little guys are. But that counts for a lot. I damn sure needed support from dudes like CEO. When people were trying to sabotage the Pontoon, CEO was right there propping it up and kept the ship going. Made me keep writing about boxing, to be honest. Not sure what went down between you two in the past few weeks (as I said, haven't been around much due to the projects), but yeah, kinda shitty for you to bring it into this thread, especially when CEO is one of my fav people on this board. This is weird posting 4 times in a row but I just wanted to put up one more "thank you" for all the comments and the support I've gotten from this board. I wasn't lying when I said this place was crucial to developing my understanding of the sport, and really, I think that gave me an edge to presenting this project. I'll be sure to keep you guys updated on the story. I'ma do my best to post every once in a while, but again, I'll always be around reading the discussions. Too many funny memories on this board.

Snoop Wrote: @ "suspicious as hell".Oh I'm sure we would be good to go a lil back-and-forth on The Congressman. I mean at the end of the day The Pontoon finally reached it's destination didn't it? I just want to add, and make this really quick, because this is a thread on what you are doing now, but that whole pontoon thread was great fun, I think everyone treated each other with respect and it still today remains one of my favourite threads on FH. Every so often, maybe once a month, I will take a look at the 'community' on there now and honestly it is the rhetoric of 5 year olds with that jackass SemenShell threatening to ban anyone who dares disagree with him. That fucken Pontoon thread should be archived and put at the top of the forum to show the kids how it is done. I hope it didn't get you too down, you were champion and represented well, I really got to know so may different poster's through that thread that I previously hadn't had that much to do with and that was down to you Captn Wong. Anyways enough about the past, and looking forward to more updates on what you have coming up in Bra-zeeel, (better hear some stories about banging super hot South America broads as well.) “Shakespeare? I ain’t never hoid of him. He’s not in no ratings. I suppose he’s one of them foreign heavyweights. They’re all lousy. Sure as hell I’ll moider dat bum.”—Tony Galento |

Really, really great stuff here Snoop. You honestly make me proud to be a member of this community, straight up.
So the gym dedicated to Jimmy Garcia's memory, that is run by his family, who were in his corner when he died, is just a ropeless ring and crooked ass heavy bag sitting on the outskirts of a soccer field? Man oh man... Love that photo of Victor Peralta in the shower. And the first one of the prospect in Palenque. Love almost all of them but those two stood out the most on first glance. Fuck off Torvix you dumb shit. I generally like having you around since without you it can sometimes feel like an NBA all-star game in here, but you looked like a damn fool coming in to Snoop's thread like that and I'm glad to see you get swatted down once again. Oh, the pontoon. Glory days. I don't want to draw back too much from that either since this thread's about the future but just to piggy back off Ollie for a sec, those sure were some great times. I can't remember all the posters involved - I mostly remember it as me, Spyder and Ollie vs. Snoop, CEO, Keith and Krack. There was also the part where Stevenski flirted with joining the pontoon but ended up more siding - but not supporting - the BRIG. And yes, we all treated each other with respect and played our 'roles' within the thread. If I had to be away from the computer for an extended period of time there would be a part of my brain going crazy wondering what I was missing. Anyway, congratulations Snoop. Sounds like great things are in store for you in 2013 and hopefully beyond. |

He was thrown in the Brig with the rest of us hooligans, and was dominate in breaking the WILL of otherwise GREAT men. JD was an honorary Brig member too. Though he never OFFICIALLY took a stance, everybody knew where he stood. His subtle jabs broke the back of those Pontoonians. That thread was GREAT, and a fantastic legacy for Snoop. Again, not dragging up the past, but it'd be hard to talk about Dave Grohl without mentioning Nirvana. "And you got your own steez about you that I appreciate bro. I see it." - Snoop |

Yeah, sure. Maybe you should reread the Pontoon thread in its grave and maybe take note of the people that ignited it on fire. |
