Sure it does. Despite the loss, Tyson was still the bigger name and bigger draw going into the rematch. Rousey, should the rematch pop off, would still be the bigger name and bigger draw over Holm. That's just the way it goes when you have a fighter with star power. Name recognition. I've got 85 people that work for me and ALL of them know Rousey's name. I bet half of them wouldn't be able to tell me the name of who just beat her and it hasn't even been a week yet AND the majority of them watched the fight at work because we showed it. A year from now only those the really follow the sport will be able to drop Holm's name, but everyone will still know Rousey. Odds are also a reflection of how odds makers expect people to bet. When you've got a huge name fighter, a huge draw, typical odds behavior often vanishes and you get these rare opportunities to make a very nice return on whatever you are comfortable risking. Those that bet with their head will do well; those that bet with their heart will be disappointed.

Another lesser example of what I'm talking about is if you look at Silva/Weidman I & II odds. Silva was a pretty big name/star at the time - certainly the superior draw to Weidman. In the first fight Silva started around a 3-1 favorite that tightened down to near 2-1 come fight time. Despite the stoppage loss, Silva was still a 3-2 favorite going into the rematch. If we were talking second tier fighters this wouldn't be the case, but since Silva was a big name/draw and people are expected to bet on him you saw him still favored comfortably to win the rematch.
