He wins, non-stop.
He knocks people out brutally and spectacularly - including a death in the ring that he even predicted (imagine that on HBO 24/7).
He led an incredible lifestyle from his pink cadillac, his dwarf court jester and imagine Frank Sinatra walking him out ;-) That tops Lil Wayne or Justin Bieber any day!
He had very weird tendencies - wouldn't ride an elevator, had his entire house wired up so he could hear everything (imagine that on 24/7).
He presented the perfect public image (father of the year award) but had a very dark side, beating his wife and hoarding hookers at a hotel down the road.
He had the perfect social proof - all the other great fighters calling him the greatest fighter of all-time. No need to coin yourself TBE.
He had a great back story - came from abject poverty, changed his name at an amateur fight where he filled in for another boy, and was the bag boy for Joe Louis.

He did all this and had incredible fame in a day when most black fighters (Charley Burley, Holman Williams et al) were relegated to fighting eachother.

Can you even imagine how bigger PPV star he would have been!

but mayweather restrains and shakes around his ex-wife a bit in order to calm her down and all of a sudden he's the devil.

also, frank sinatra bigger than bieber and lil wayne combined? please. did old blue eyes have millions of followers on twitter and people paying attention to his every move, 24/7? didn't think so.

Yeah but Frank had ties to the mob. No way does Frank get a shakedown from the likes of J Prince and be relying on a 'known homosexual' (copyright of Floyd Mayweather Senior) like Leonard Ellerbee to get his ass out of a jam.

floyd don't discriminate like them old school italians do. he accepts all. that's something to be commended.

ties to the mob? the life of crime is no life at all. don't be a fool, stay in school. or if you're money, school the fools in the ring. now that's what i'm talking about.

How old are you Chad?

Old blue eyes ran Hollywood and the mob back then, let alone the fact that he was an entertainment icon who has proven timeless. He DWARFED Bieber and Lil Wayne.

Also, given the fact that the answer to the first question may be 5 years old, Twitter wasn't around in the days of Sinatra.

We are talking hypotheticals, if PPV and the current forms of media WERE around in those days.

Bieber and Lil Wayne combined bigger than Sinatra because they have millions of twitter followers, HAHAHAHA.

that's right. more people are able to follow them 24/7, which means that they are more notorious and their antics are more accessible. it's really very simple.

you keep referencing his life of crime, and chad finds it disturbing that a man would be so enamored by that. the criminal lifestyle is a bad example for the kids. that shit ain't cool and it certainly ain't elite, ya feel me?

look, may-may beieber and lil wayne, they makes millions and it's all legit. so you might not think that they are bigger than sinatra but they are, both in fame and in their morals. and that's something that we should all commend.

chad knows.

is mayweather a gangsta? no. just ask his father, mother and even bernard hopkins. mayweather is a good guy whose talent is only eclipsed by his love for humanity.

RE: Who would be big today?
The Croat Comet would be a big fan favorite in today's era I believe, but he would need Steve Smoger to ref every fight

İmage

RE: Who would be big today?
Gerry Cooney would have fucking huge had his prime been right now. A big Irish guy with a KO punch? He gave Holmes a fairly tough fight, he may have topped Klitschko and became the biggest name in boxing.
