Fights get stopped a lot easier in the amateurs, especially at small, local tournaments. A friend of mine had one of his fights stopped because he got a bloody nose from a jab. Yeah that looked like a bad stoppage, but there are no excuses for hitting the ref and then pounding him on the ground.

BS stoppage or not, a fighter's test is to control their emotions, even under unjust circumstances. How one handles themselves under pressure is a true measure of their manhood. Yeah, that guy in the blue was as weak as water. How do you fight at that level in the amateurs and then literally run and leave a guy get his faced smashed in!
