RE: Are Movie Theaters Arcade Bound?
I think The Interview is a test case that makes it impossible to gauge.

All the notoriety generated from the Sony hack, the threats to movie theaters and general buzz in the mainstream 24 hour news cycle was a marketing push that very few movies can ever hope to receive.

I didn't even know about the movie until it hit the news.

With homes having their own movie theaters so to speak, it is natural that theaters will feel a pinch...especially now that is costs $15 - $20 a head to buy a movie ticket, but I don't think they are going anywhere just yet. In the end, it is still a cheap night out and a decent way to kill a few hours.
