RE: Are Movie Theaters Arcade Bound?
Steven Spielberg spoke about the future of Cinema a little bit ago. He threw out some ideas, like buying a ticket to see a movie like it was a play. The movie would travel around the country on short releases, and the ticket pricing would also be aligned to that of a Broadway event. Since there would be less seats available...given the vastly reduced screening times...a night out at the theater would become a much more exclusive type of event.

With the new Premium Theaters popping up around the country, I can see that model working on a scale similar to Broadway. There will obviously need to be an alternative for the "every man" to go to the movies and throw popcorn at the screen too.

In the end, I think that an "all of the above" approach should be used...including VOD.
