Salamov is one of the rare guys from that part of the world up there in the rankings that doesn't have extensive amateur pedigree at the highest level (open World Champs, Olympics).

One thing in Mar's favour is his age. All the other really top guys are 30+ while he is still only 22. I hope they don't rush him. Kevin found him in Miami at a Wlad training camp and apparently the crazy fucker was going toe-to-toe with Wlad, LOL.
