Amateur fighters that turned out to be busts
Alright, dickmunchers. Enough of pro boxing and Broner hating. What amateur fighters didn't do as well as you thought they'd? He can be a guy you thought would medal and didn't even qualify or a dude that turned pro and didn't live up to the hype.
RauShee Warren. Thought he'd medal, he ended up just turning pro. Thor Hamer. He's a decent big dude. What happened to him? |

RE: Amateur fighters that turned out to be busts
Hamer is garbage i called that he wouldn't do shit after i fought him in the ammys, Jerry Page was a gold medalist and busted as a pro, Dante Craig had an impressive amatuer career he now sis 20-20 as a pro, i thought Mark Breland would've done more cant really call it a bust because he retired like 39-1 or some shit. Ron Siler one is the slickest amatuer fighters I've seen ever went 1-1 as a pro Juan McPherson who has an amatuer record that rivals Lomachenko's started out 7-0 and now fights under the name Clifford and sits at 9-31....i consider myself a bust had around 130ish amatuer fights lost about 35 turned pro to early and didnt know how to turn down a fight and bam here i am haha

RE: Amateur fighters that turned out to be busts
Breland is probably the most famous pro "failure".
Bojado was another good, young amateur who was meant to make a big impact in the pro ranks. |

RE: Amateur fighters that turned out to be busts
Mark Breland comes to mind of fighters really not living up to their potential based on their amateur career. Weather you consider a former title holder a bust or not is another thing.

RE: Amateur fighters that turned out to be busts
Wait, wait, wait. This guy's name was ACTUALLY Thor Hamer?
All heart. That's what most little guys are. But that counts for a lot. In the gym or the ring all you gotta do is get up one more time than the other guy thinks you can. - Gabrielle Calvocoressi http://www.wanderingpugilist.com |
