Canelo vs. Chavez Jr. Set for May 6th
http://www.ringtv.com/480333-canelo-face...-5-pounds/

Looks like Canelo is taking on Chavez Jr. at a catchweight of 164.5lbs. I guess his body finally "matured" into the weightclass.

rolleyes

All heart. That's what most little guys are.
But that counts for a lot. In the gym or
the ring all you gotta do is get up
one more time than the other guy thinks you can.

Dude what are you talking about? This has NOTHING to do with the catchweight. Did you not see where this fight is being contracted? 164.5!!! That means all the shit he said about not being able to fight Golovkin at 160 was complete and utter bullshit.

And to think I used to like Canelo.

He is the worst, diva BS, use of power, pussy the sport has ever seen! He has taken Pacquiao, Mayweather, Cotto antics to the next level.

It is now clear, now made explicit by Canelo, that the only reason he didn't move to middleweight and fight GGG was because he was SHIT SCARED!

And don't get me started on Oscar De La Hoya, the biggest phony on the face of the planet!

The catch weight is for JCC jr, NOT Canelo. There is no way that JCC could make 160, so to make the fight they picked a weight that he could. And let's be real here...he's not fighting Andre Ward.

Whether the CW is for JJCj or not is irrelevant. Canelo "all of a sudden" can very comfortably make the middleweight limit for a lesser fighter but couldn't do it for GGG.
It's clear as day this is just a cash fight that holds little substance! This should be exciting while it lasts but is still a horrible fight considering..

Seriously Spyder. Is this like completely going over your head or something? ANY weight above 160, regardless if it falls into a legitimate weight division or not, proves that Canelo was full of shit when talking about why he wasn't facing Golovkin. If he's gonna agree to let JCC Jr. come in at 164.5, why not Golovkin at 160? This really has nothing to do with the catchweight and everything to do with the excuses he made when he was the middleweight "champion".

GGG is better than JCC Jr.

This isn't that hard Snoop.

Yeah he is. Which is why it's clear he ducked GGG, evidenced by the fact that he's taking a fight above middleweight, which is why people are upset by the fight. What is it exactly that you're not getting? Catchweights have nothing to do with the problem here.

Here's an explanation from the Canelo camp on why the weight jump is justified. Apparently they're using JCC jr. to prepare for GGG. Let's hope that's true.
