That conviction comes by presenting evidence of their guilt. And then that judge or jury must deliberate the evidence and decide a suitable punishment for their crimes. Let's say that punishment is death. That sentence is then put through the appellate court system for a decade or more until the sentence is finally carried out. That is the opposite of efficient, but at least in the end we are fairly certain that we got it right. This shit takes all of that process, and crams it into the skull of a dude with a 2 year course and a Highschool degree.
