Your Scorecards For GGG-Canelo
Just wondering how everyone scored it.

I agreed with the 114-114 judge.

115-113 GGG

I have Golovkin in the rematch all day.

116-112 Golovkin. 115-113 is fair as well, with 114-114 IMO being the absolute most anyone could have in favor of Canelo.

I'd take GGG in the rematch, too.

I'd say any score between 116-112 Golovkin to 115-113 Canelo is acceptable. There were a lot of close rounds where you had to pick between GGG's consistent but ineffective work and Canelo's sporadic but eye-catching work.

RE: Your Scorecards For GGG-Canelo
Rewatching the fight a second time I didn't see it too much differently except for a point. It was a very good and very competitive fight with many close rounds..just not close on the cards..

Round 1: Golovkin
Round 2: Canelo
Round 3: Canelo
Round 4: Golovkin
Round 5: Golovkin
Round 6: Golovkin
Round 7: Golovkin
Round 8: Golovkin
Round 9: Golovkin
Round 10: Golovkin
Round 11: Golovkin
Round 12: Canelo

117-111 Golovkin

Wow...round 10 Golovkin? I thought that was one of Canelo's clearest rounds! All three judges scored that one for him. I'd also struggle giving GGG the first - he landed virtually nothing and shook his head in frustration after it.

I'm not sure Canelo had any clear rounds. I felt 2&3 were close and were pretty much the only rounds I gave Canelo. I gave rounds 4, 9 & 11 to GGG but feel they were pretty tough rounds..
Rewatching it, I wanted to give Canelo the benefit of the doubt but felt his output and punches landed wasn't enough for GGG's work he put in. If Canelo landed good shots..GGG would too or moments later would.

GGG did an excellent job of never allowing Canelo to win a moment by always answering with his own shot(s) and would always land the last/next shot to a sequence.

Even when neither were landing..GGG was still controlling the action and never found himself in situations where he had to hold, cover up, retreat or be backed up or walked down. He was in control for majority of the rounds & feel round 1 was one of those rounds.
GGG landed more but Canelo got more of a reaction from the crowd too which can be a distraction. I felt some of Canelo's best work was to the body which wasn't getting picked up so much by our commentators.

RE: Your Scorecards For GGG-Canelo
Halfway through rewatching the fight and so far I'm struggling to find rounds to give to GGG.

I've given him every close round and have it 3-3 after six.

He landed four jabs in round 1 and nothing else. That is an indisputable round for Canelo.

Round 2 and 3 are also easy Canelo rounds.

I remember thinking Round 4-6 were Golovkin rounds watching it live but now they are all very close rounds. They landed roughly equal shots but Canelo's jabs were much more powerful and his power shots more eye catching. Golovkin, however, was for the most going forwards which tends to be an important factor for many people so I've scored all of those rounds to GGG even though I can see an argument for 5 being a Canelo round.

About to start 7-12.
