Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacqiuao @ 130-135
So these two finally fought 6 years after they should have. The discussion has always been about who would have won had they fought 6 years prior, around when Pac beat Cotto and whether the fight would have been any different to the one we eventually got?

Although it was never possible for these guys to fight until they were at Welter but I don't really recall fans mention how a fight would have gone between these two at 130-135?

Both were slightly different fighters at those lower weights compared to Welterweight.

Mayweather had more speed and offense where Pac also had more speed along with a higher workrate and killer instinct.

Who would have won on their best nights between Mayweather & Pacqiuao @ 130-135?

This would have actually been a good fight. I feel Pac could have looked like Loma on Rigo at times here, outworking and out throwing Mayweather who wouldn't have enough openings to get enough work in. Although Mayweather was more offensive there, he wouldn't press enough to have Pac backed up the way a Morales was able to.

I feel Pac outworks Mayweather who is able to stay on his toes and land enough solid counters to see him go 12 but lose a close UD.

I personally think Pac has always been the perfect foil for Mayweather...which is why it took them so long to finally fight. Floyd waited off until Pac had lost that killer instinct and confidence.

Prime Pac at 130-147 outscores Floyd (and maybe even busts him up at the lower weights), but once Pac started losing his edge at 147 after the Cotto fight he becomes an easy victim for Floyd - which is what played out when they eventually fought.

I’m wondering if the Margarito fight ruined Pac. He never seemed the same after that.

Pac on points.

In the end, I do think the Marg fight took a huge toll on him. His skill set was predicated on his explosiveness, once that diminished so did he - quickly.

That said, Pac’s feet were the perfect counter to Floyd’s timing.

I don't think you want to try to back Pac up to beat him. Pac's angles are ONLY used when he has an opponent coming to him. Marquez showed the blueprint to beat Pac. Mayweather is longer (and uses that length) and much sharper. I think Mayweather wins young just like he did when they were both old, but younger they both end up a lot more busted up.

With that said, Mayweather is also a bigger guy naturally than Pac (particularly his length), probably by a couple of divisions.

JD, Floyd would still be too long, too athletic and too smart...

Pacs weakness has always been counterpunchers. JMM is a tiny poor Mexican version of Floyd.
