Matthysse at 140 was the goods for a short while. He learned his lesson in the Judah/Alexander fights by starting quicker and started getting nice results & heavy praise from the boxing world.
Problem with that was, by the time he stepped in against Garcia he had fallen for his praise, the odds & also fallen in love with that power of his & went in there over confident and costed him. He has now stopped measuring, jabbing and setting shots up and very quickly became average once he stopped doing the little extras that can separate one fighter from the other. He has not reached that form back and since Garcia/Postol he isn't the same fighter anymore either. |
