I’ll take either of these bags of sauce, fighting on ESPN right now, over Fury.

Ok so in all my years of boxing i have never seen or heard this done before...

But the Ref in the Fury vs Pianeta fight was also the lone judge?.... this fight had ONE judge and he was ALSO the referee?! When else has this been done?

Im surprised Eddie Hearn hasnt tried this with AJ or Oscar with Canelo...

It used to be standard practice in all British non-title fights but I thought they'd changed it. They now usually have two judges and the ref as the third judge.

Yeah Jon you see it loads on undercards here as Black says, non title affairs, 6-8-10 rounders etc.

That's interesting... so its a UK thing? Man i would think that would cause major issues with favoritism towards the bigger named fighter.

Seems like a decent way to keep a prospect on the rise... "go out there and whatever you do, just dont get KOd kid"...

Look up some older fights from the 80's and 90's...as the final bell goes the fighters run straight to the ref and he literally grabs one fighter's hand and raises it immediately. No score announcements, no checking, nothing.
