The idea wasn’t to imagine shrinking a heavyweight down to flyweight. The same could be accomplished by reimagining a flyweight as a heavyweight.

As Teddy mentioned, heavyweights are the reason P4P lists exist. Without them, there could never be any argument about who the best fighter on Earth is. It’s the heavyweight champion. Tyson Fury would crush the greatest middleweights in history with ease.

P4P allowed pundits to argue that smaller guys were perhaps better fighters, all things being equal.

It’s a given that heavyweights rule the boxing world when it comes fantasy match-making. P4P allows you to include non-heavyweights in a discussion they might otherwise be absent from. Putting heavyweights on the list is redundant.
