The Hanso Foundation also took out an ad in the New York Times and repudiated the “lies” being told about them on another website called hansoexposed.com, which viewers could go to to learn more about the organization’s secrets. ABC also created a website for Oceanic Airlines, which was the airline the Lost survivors were on when it crashed onto the island. You could actually search the site and try to buy tickets, only to receive an error message telling you all flights had been cancelled due to the missing 815 flight. I’m trying to recall everything from memory here, so probably tons more I can’t remember at the moment, but there was also a book that Sawyer was reading on the show called “Bad Twin”, which wasn’t a real book at the time, but was later released by the producers and can still be purchased on Amazon. It didn’t include any of the Lost characters in it (of course) but did contain references to the Widmore and Hanso groups. The Lost Season 3 DVD set also contained an actual VHS video tape containing the orientation video Locke watched in the Hatch, or maybe another training video from one of the other stations, I don’t remember exactly. Really, the Lost Experience was the most meta shit I’ve ever seen from any one film or television property. They even had fucking Apollo Candy Bars at one point, giving them away to random people. EDIT: Just double checked, it was actually season 5 box set which had the VHS. Warriors Don't Show Their Heart Until The Axe Reveals It. |
