Wilder - Fury Purse Bid
60/40 instead of the standard 70/30

If they don’t get a deal done, it’ll go to pursebid in early February.

Look for Hearn to outbid everyone to get it on DAZN.

RE: Wilder - Fury Purse Bid
Sal...standard pursebid is 70/30 for the champ. Due to the value of Fury, WBC altered the rules.

That's interesting. I learned something new today!

I would think that Fury's market value would be 50%, particularly for the rematch.

Did Wilder get the lion's share of the first fight?

What do you mean 70/30 is the standard for the champ? I have never heard that.
Not saying it isn't true, but is there very specific circumstances that this rule ONLY applies to?

Wilder got a $4 million guarantee, Fury a $3 million guarantee first go around - that was a voluntary though, not a mandatory.

WBC ordered a rematch making Fury the mandatory which means they work out a deal by X date (Feb 3 I believe), or it goes to purse bid at the fixed percentages. WBC decided Fury is worth more than 30%, so they altered the guarantees.

With a mandatory that goes to pursebid, WBC rules state that the champ gets 70%, unless they choose to change the cuts - which they did here.

RE: Wilder - Fury Purse Bid
I wonder what Hearn would gain by winning the bid? I forget what comes with Promo rights...

I dont believe he can choose where or when this fight takes place... or distribution, correct?

RE: Wilder - Fury Purse Bid
If he wins the pursebid it will go on DAZN...which makes a lot of sense if he’s close to getting Wlad on a 3 fight deal.

Not sure if he can make it in the UK or not.
