Things not thread worthy
BrutalBodyShots Wrote:Another non thread worthy topic that I'd like to address because I'm tired of it...I disagree. The family reaction shots help tell the story of the fight. The concerned look of the loser's family, or jubilation of the winner's is an important aspect for the home viewer to see. Think about it. We are not there in the arena, so it's hard for us to get a sense of the atmosphere. Showing the crowd reaction helps translate that to the television audience. Seriously, think about Hatton-Tszyu. The crowd was just as much a part of the fight as the fighters themselves...it made the fight an EVENT. The shots of the crowd enhanced the electricity in the arena, and I felt like I was there watching it from my couch. And Fitz, I HATE pip boxes. Fucking LOATHE them. It is a cheap crutch for non-talented Directors. As a Director, if I want you to see the families' reaction, then I'm taking that shot full screen. If the fight is what you need to see, then that is full screen. Why would I want to distract you from what you should be watching on screen with a little pip window? It's disingenuous to whatever the focus should be to put up something else in the corner. "And you got your own steez about you that I appreciate bro. I see it." - Snoop |
