Things not thread worthy
Fitz Wrote:It distracts from what the focus should be. If the fighters are fighting, then why would I want to distract the viewer to look at some less important thing in the corner? If that thing in the corner is important enough to put in a box, then why not show it full screen when it makes sense?Fitz Wrote:Or even have a small box in the corner where they show the family, so at least the viewer has an option.Spyder, I know you're in the TV/entertainment industry. I'm sorry, but this is a pet-peeve of mine. I fight with dipshit producers about those stupid 30/70 boxes from time to time, and I always make them realize how useless those things are. Any good director can tell the story with clean cuts and dissolves. Fucking lazy, untalented hacks need those mixed effects to show what their lack of ability can't. The ONLY exception is to show cause/effect events that happen simultaneously. Like I push a button, and something blows up across the room. With pre-produced video you can accomplish this with cuts, but with live TV you would miss one event or the other. If both events are necessary to tell the story, and both events happen at the exact same moment...then, and ONLY then is it acceptable to use a squeeze back box. Situations like that rarely ever happen though. "And you got your own steez about you that I appreciate bro. I see it." - Snoop |
