But it definitely does add something to a lot of the viewers, just not everyone.

Not every Director knows how to properly use crowd reaction shots, so there will be instances where it doesn't make sense...or it's overdone. But it is a useful tool that can add value to a live broadcast, and when done right, it is very effective.

I'm not saying in moderation or at times it cannot add value, but 20 shots for one fight is just too much for me. It gets to the point where I find it distracting.

During those shots I often find myself running to take a piss or grab a drink.
