Things not thread worthy
Romulus9 Wrote:My thoughts on Hatton are short and simple. Was he, to some degree, overhyped? Yes. Especially after getting the win over a faded Tszyu then rolling off a few title defenses to set up the Mayweather fight. People were putting him in places historically that he didn't really belong, falling into the trap of excitement over a big win that allowed him to emerge onto the international scene. It happens.I'll disagree with you slightly Rom. In one sense yeah Hatton achieved as much in the ring as his talent merited, but on the hand he really did treat his body like a toilet in between fights and it really shortened his career and made his prime much shorter than it should have been. He never beats Mayweather or Manny but I think if he had looked after himself a little better he may have slipped another few good names into his resume. He always, always gave 100% in the ring though and for that I can't fault him. “Shakespeare? I ain’t never hoid of him. He’s not in no ratings. I suppose he’s one of them foreign heavyweights. They’re all lousy. Sure as hell I’ll moider dat bum.”—Tony Galento |
