RE: Things not thread worthy

There's only ever maybe 3-5 active threads. What gives?A few of us blitzed the other forums, and I took steps to increase our SEO with the major search engines. What SEO is for those that don't know is "Search Engine Optimization". Google and the other major search engines have algorithms for different search options. That's a technical way of putting it...a more everyman way is: When you type "Bernard Hopkins" in the search window, Google tries to figure out what you are trying to find. It puts the highest likelihood up top. For this example, articles about his current victory should appear. Then his wiki page, then his boxrec, then anything else that Google thinks you want to know. One of the reasons that Google pretty much lives here is because of our SEO programs. We are basically telling Google and the other big search engines to hang out in our forum and catalog what we're talking about. So if someone searches a topic, HOPEFULLY we'll have an active thread about it that pops up near the top of their search results. Anyway, that is a lot of words to answer your question...but more simply...the more you post about trending topics, the more people will see it, and possibly click to see what we have to say. If they click and like (or hate) what is said, then they MIGHT join the forum and make a comment about it. If the interaction is interesting enough, good or bad, then they might come back and post more. That is pretty much how this works in a nutshell. We also simultaneously post new topics on Twitter and Facebook, so the possibility of reaching people extends beyond the SEO. That is what I'm doing to try to bring new posters, but honestly my main concern is with the people already here. The guys that have been posting together for more than a decade. I lost sleep when the board was deleted last month. I was really upset that we lost all of those posts and threads. One of the main reasons that BU was started was to give us a place to BS about boxing without worrying about our shit getting deleted. I really love what critic said, "I'm not here for what it was, i'm here for WHAT IT IS BAYBAY!" "And you got your own steez about you that I appreciate bro. I see it." - Snoop |
