Alexander Povetkin just brutalized Manuel Charr in Russia for the WBC International title. Charr was never in the fight. Got outworked on the inside from the beginning, which is where he wanted to be. Povetkin worked the body from the start, took the starch out of everything Charr had after the third round, which is the only round I did't score for the Russian.

Was providing a round-by-round for one of my fighters. This was round 7:

Round 7: Povetkin getting off first in almost every exchange. Starting to pivot on the front foot, step around to fire from angle, and come right back. Another uppercut inside and a major combination. Charr down and sprawled over the bottom rope. Fight over. Povetkin with a MAJOR combination, finishing with a brutal right hand. Charr's head snaps back, referee stops it immediately. Charr starts to complain but is wobbling when he gets to his feet. Povetkin KO 7. Charr was never in the fight. THAT was a statement win for Povetkin. REPLAY: Uppercut-overhand right started it, Charr picked a left hook off, then a savage left hook-right and put him down and out.



How about that? I managed to get through a round-by-round without a single "WOOOOOOOOOO!!" when a punch lands clean. So it is possible. Incredible.

Povetkin TKO 7 Charr. Impressive performance, and one that Povetkin needed badly after the one-sided ass kicking he took from Wlad. As for Charr, who cares? No one cared before, no one cares now, no one is going to care. Go back to Syria.
