The torch always gets passed in boxing, the only difference is Floyd wont fight anyone that can beat him and he isn't with GBP anymore. So since Pac's time as a big sell is over and Floyd isn't going to be able to do a strong ppv without a high risk fight that leaves Canelo as the next big name and HBO would rather have their network doing big ppvs than Showtime. If they go with cinco de mayo and have a strong card there wont be any way for Floyd and Showtime to compete.
