Yeah, Oscar was a mere flee at middleweight. He had a legendary jab down lower, but he just couldn't pack a punch at 160, which didn't help that he had Floyd Sr in his corner who had zero idea on strength and conditioning training. DLH wasn't even a big hitter at 154 with Floyd Sr - even Campas looked well and truly the boss in there with him.
Jermain had a much much heavier jab. It could be countered because it came back so low, but you would have to have range and great timing to do that to him. I don't think Floyd possesses the former (range). You are better off slipping and getting inside a jab like Taylor's if you aren't a Carlos Monzon with a laser right hand over the top. |
