Yeah, Mosley was brilliant as a lightweight. Moved up to welter, looked solid against Ramirez and Wise, but still wasn't at his peak IMO. After beating Oscar, Shane came out against Diaz, Taylor, Stone and even Forrest 1, absolutely full of confidence. His jab was sharp, he had great head movement, looked smooth, slipping shots on the inside, putting together lightning quick combinations.
Even in the first round of the first Forrest fight, Shane looked terrific. But he got clipped in the second, fought the rest of the fight in a daze and then never returned the same. We saw a bunch of different iterations of Shane after that, but he was truly the epitome of a confidence fighter. After his confidence had been taken, he was never the same. What a shame, because in that brief period of time when he was being compared to the other Sugars, he looked to be the goods. I still watch that brief run of time where he was in his prime in awe of his talent! |
