These discussions always get resurrected with once-greats. No matter how old/past it they get, all it takes is a win over a name to start talking big fights with them again.

Mosley's last big win was Margarito 6 years ago. Since then he's gone 2-4-1. 7 fights in 6 years with is only 2 wins in 6 years against Cano and Mayorga. Yeah, I know several of those losses were against great fighters in Mayweather, Alvarez and Pacquiao. Well, in those 36 rounds Mosley is lucky to have won 4 of them. He's proven against top guys not only can't he win, but he can't be competitive at this stage. And, that's all good; the guy's had a long career, already retired and is 43.

I have zero interest in seeing Mosley in there with any of the current top guys in the division. Porter, Brook etc. are simply fights that make zero sense at this stage of the game for Shane Mosley.

In no way do I feel Mosley could beat any on the top guys now or even hang with them. He won't be getting rematches with Mayweather, Pacqiuao, Cotto or Canelo. Staying at Middleweight for Golovkin would be a horrible idea so IF he is gonna continue and try land one more big fight then picking up a title at 154 or fighting the likes or Porter & Brook would be fights to aim for.

That's only if he wants one more big fight..which he does. If not then he should just take Roy Jones's approach..
