Why would Rocky fight Patterson? He was retired before Floyd had ever made a name for himself. Patterson wasn't ranked in the top ten for sure when Rocky retired, and none of the papers at the time had him listed as a possible opponent.
As for names going to Denmark to fight Nielsen... I hardly think that's an accurate description. Denmark is not and never has been the mecca of boxing. Nielsen never held a major world title. And he certainly never faced and beat the type of competition Marciano did. You have to be trolling at this point to even interject Nielsen's name into the discussion. At least use Larry Holmes, if you want to make a serious argument. |
