Isn't the fight for the interim title, meaning that the winner would have to take on the Thurman/Porter winner for the title? Maybe I'm understanding that wrong.

It's absolutely amazing what making a name for yourself in the sport can do. It literally never goes away and presents so many opportunities (and consequently money) to those that achieve that household name status.

Roy Jones is probably 15-20 years past his prime, at least 10 years past being relevant yet people still talk about his fights even if he's taking on a selected fan. Mike Tyson could fight tomorrow at 50 years old and would probably sell more PPV's than half of the current champions out there. Oscar could announce a comeback a decade removed from being relevant and secure a title shot after beating a scrub. Chavez Jr. never even achieved a tenth of what his Pops did, but with his name alone could easily slide into a title shot with a win or two against garbage opponents.

Mosley is one of those guys that has a name and will always get opportunities as a result as long as he sticks around. Hopefully he goes the Tyson/Oscar route and realizes it's time to go in the near future and doesn't follow the Jones path to where he becomes a sideshow act.
