I'm not debating the business sense behind it. It makes all the sense in the world. I just think it's funny to see boxers calling out an opponent who literally has no amateur experience and one fight (a loss) on his record.

Neither Gayweather nor Gay La Hoya (should) get any credit for fighting an opponent like this. It's a complete cash grab.

I find it funny how for years Gayweather fought cherry picked, relatively easy fights for minimum risk/maximum reward, and got roundly criticized for it by a ton of boxing fans. Many on this board did so as well.

But suddenly, he (and now Gay La Hoya) call out a dude with zero amateur experience, and boxing fans are like "derp, Mayweath iz da bomb, he so smart, eazy money, westside", as if this cash grab were somehow laudatory.

As much as I despise Conor, at least he fucking had the nuts to step up and fight these cats in their own backyard, where they have all the advantages and he has none.

Yes, I know, suddenly for boxing fans it's "all about da money, holmes" now, and not about the integrity of the sport.

To me, it's just a lowdown, shitass move. It makes financial sense for these guys to chase down Connie Mac. But it makes no sense to me for boxing fans to take pride in this or justify it.

It's a shitass cash grab of the worst kind, and there is no honor in it. I know, spare me the money shit. I know it's now the end-all, be-all when it comes to these circus shows. But for me, it's a black eye for boxing.

There was a time when promoters got all the blame for fucking this sport up. Now the fighters are getting in on the action. Money, money, money, that's all that fucking matters. Even deluded fans are getting in on the act. Fuck being the best, or carving out a legacy. How much fucking money can I milk out of this shit, that right there is the mark for greatness now.

Sorry, man, it's just fucking disgusting. I'd never challenge a retard to a fight, no matter how awesome he was at beating up all the other retards, and no matter how much money you paid me to do it. And that is essentially what Gayweather and Ga La Hoya are doing, challening someone who probably even isn't skilled enough to be called a retard in the boxing world. Retard would be two steps up for Conor.

And shitty ass boxing fans cheering "look at him beat that retard, boi!" Fucking pathetic.
