Our sport here is AFL (Australian Rules Football). About 3 years ago, they made a peofessional womans league, AFLW and it is absolutely awful. Though you wouldn't know it because the media say how good it is, but read comments on social media and you can see that everyone are on different pages.
Media talk up about how good the crowd attendance is for the AFLW games, but fail to mention that is free entry. The womans game is absolute shit. The scores are about 50%-70% lower than the men's. The men can kick monster goals from 50-60 metres out while a monster goal from a woman is about 30 metres out. Though one thing that infuriates me is that I have been buying AFL trading cards for my boys. Now in each packet they have been sliding in one card of a woman from AFLW in each deck. Fuck off, I don't want AFLW cards. Release a separate deck of cards for AFLW and give them away with a coupon from the Sunday paper if you must. It's a shit quality, tickets to games are free but stop telling us how great it is and then accuse all men who don't like it of being sexist. |
