NBA players, NFL players, MLB players, and NASCAR drivers all work for a corporation too. So do soccer players. Being part of an organization isn't why MMA fighters don't have as high a ceiling as boxers do when it comes to money. It's because MMA is looked at, mostly, as human cockfighting. It's low brow entertainment for the unwashed masses, and it isn't part of the mainstream consciousness the way boxing and other traditional sports are.
