Wlad was obviously a great champion and all, but, Haye and Povetkin aside, some of those challengers were real bargain bucket, bottom of the barrel, end of the aisle tomato cans.

At least now we have a modicum of decent non-champion contenders such as Wilder, Ruiz and Whyte. Ten years ago we have Andrew Warwczyk, Alex Leapai and Francesco Pianeta.

I totally disagree. Wlad’s era was light years beyond this one. As I always say, Calvin Brock would’ve tap-danced all over these motherfuckers.

Ray Mercer, Chris Byrd, Frans Botha, Samuel Peter, Hasim Rahman, Corrie Sanders, and David Haye would all run roughshod over this division. The only guys that would even be remotely competitive are the so-called champs at the very top.
