RE: Football (soccer) thread
No we got David Moyes and I'm delighted with that. Mourinho would have been a bad move. Lots of people assumed we'd go for Jose because he is apparently available and has a very good record, but in Moyes we have opted for stability with a no nonsense approach. Mourinho and his circus are more suited to the likes of Chelski, so him returning to the rent boys will delight all the chavs down at Stamford Bridge. Moyes is here for the long term, signing a six year deal. His teams have over achieved for years and despite him not winning any trophies I have full faith in this appointment and look forward to the new season.
Obviously it was sad news when Ferguson announced his retirement but we all knew he couldn't go on forever. He recommended Moyes to the board and they unanimously backed him. No-one can ever truly replace Sir Alex but of all the names bandied about, Moyes was the most appealing. I'm delighted we have him here. |
