I mean there are downsides to the structure, i.e. injuries, replacements, fighters being left out etc., but I say that we've gotten some pretty quality fights, regardless if there is a tournament championship at stake. They've also seemingly "fixed" the problem with the bantamweight tournament, being shorter with fewer stages.

Dude, a sports tourney CANT take 3+ years. It just cant. By the end you dont even fucking remember what it was or how it all started Seriously. Im a huge sports fan, and Im not hating, but a double elimination with 6 guys takes fucking forever., EXCLUDING injuries and bullshit.
