I never liked Hogan, but if we are comparing him to Austin in terms of how they impacted popular culture, Hogan is/was definitely the bigger star by far.

If it's generated revenue and tickets sales, Austin was bigger in pure numbers, if the WWE is to be believed.

My personal preference is Austin. I liked him since his WCW days, and the Hollywood Blondes were probably my favorite tag team growing up as a kid.

Austin was also a better in-ring performer, especially before his spine got wrecked. Hogan wasn't very good technically, even by big-man standards. Vader was the standard for big men, IMO. He was unreal, doing backflips and shit off the top rope. Hogan had a fucking leg drop as his finisher. Tells you all you need to know.
