All those guys were good. Rick Rude bei g ine if my fav out if that bunch. He was one of the few wrestlers that had decent matches with Thr Ultimate Warrior who was my all time fav but was far from good with inring ability .

Jim Cornette and a couple of other guys behind the scenes said Hogan refused to wrestle Rick Rude because Rude beat the shit out of the Ultimate Warrior in the locker room.

Basically, Warrior had no respect for Rude. He didn't think Rude was on his level, he shouldn't have to wrestle him, and as usual, was stiff as shit in the ring. Rude told him to ease up. Warrior said no. He didn't have to. He was the Warrior. And so Rude beat the piss out of him in the locker room, and everyone was pretty pleased with it.

Hogan was legit scared of Rude, as were most of the wrestlers. Steve Austin said he loved Rude, but that he was intense as shit. Almost every night Rude would take his girlfriend to the bars with them, and send her walking up and down the bar, waiting for a dude to hit on her or catcall, where Rude would then proceed to promptly beat the shit out of the guy.

Austin said he had to control his foul mouth around Rude too, who despite his rough exterior and violent tendencies, was a hardcore family man and quite religious. One time on the road Austin recalled saying "goddamn" one too many times, to which Rude replied, "For fuck's sake, would you stop taking the Lord's name in vain!?" That's all it took for Austin to zip it.

Funny you bring up only liking Michaels as a Intercontinental champ. I like him as a Rocker also but felt once he made his entrance on a flying fox and became Mr. Wrestlemania he got ahrad if himself.
He was my fav withing the first 2 years of becoming HBK. Him turning his back on Marty Janetty by putting him through Beef cakes shop window was truly shocking to to see unfold!

Michaels definitely hurt his reputation quite a bit with his backstage antics, but there is no denying his skills in the ring. Of my list of top 5 best wrestlers of all time, he is definitely on the list. In no particular order, I say Flair, Sting, Hart, Michaels, and Rude are my top 5. I put Rude over Mr. Perfect because I like Rude better, and because at least Rude held a world title at some point, while Perfect never did.

Check out Flair's matches with Steamboat in the 80's. All-time classics.

Rick, Sting, and Steamboat got together recently to talk about the old days, and Steamboat told a story about how one day he was on the road, and stopped at the gas station to fill up and get some drinks and shit. Inside was Flair. Steamboat walked right up to Flair and grabbed him by the shirt, shoved him up against a wall, and said "If I ever see you in here again I'll rearrange your whole goddamn face!" and stormed out.

Flair was stunned, and didn't know what the fuck was going on. When he got to the arena the next day, he was like "Ricky, what the hell happened?"

Steamboat chuckled and was like, "I just wanted to give the fans a show."

Can you imagine gassing up at fucking 1:00 or 2:00AM in the morning, only to see Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat come in and man-handle Ric Flair? Un-fucking-real.

There's another funny one about Randy Savage at a Waffle House. I'll tell that one next time.

Eric ran the company into the ground, and Vince Russo and co. put it six feet under. Just total mismanagement from top to bottom.
