Big gaps between rematches
10 years - Maske-Hill
16 years - Fenech-Nielson
17 years - Jones-Hopkins
19 years - Holyfield-Mercer

Any others notable gaps between rematches?

Cool topic and nice examples... can't think of any off the top of my head to add.

Surprised Trinidad and De La Hoya never got it on again. I don't even remember it being talked about

Me too, but I think it was because Trindad started bumping divisions post DLH. He had a few fights at 154 and by the time DLH was at 154 Trinidad was competing in the middleweight tournament. If they were to fight again I think it would have had to happen at 160, and DLH is either 1-1 or 0-2 at middle depending on how you look at it.

Don't you remember DLH going to meet with Tito in Puerto Rico? It was shortly after he retired. Oscar was trying to lure him out of retirement to fight the rematch, but Tito wanted the lion's share for having won the first time. The rematch was dead in the water after that.

Nice! I think you're the winner unless anyone can beat 21 years...
