Matthysse KO 10 Ojuse
BigG Wrote:I missed the fight but I've known Mathysse was a beast for a while. He should probably be undefeated. He was def. robbed vs. Devon.Oh yeh, have to make him V Rios for sure. That would be a serious war! I just hope Rios gains that pop back in his punches when his no longer so drained. He was so damn crisp, but in his last 2 outings, he just looked like a ghost of his former self. He looked like he couldn't bust a grape. |

Matthysse KO 10 Ojuse
Matthyse gets thrown in with Maidana and pigeon holed as an 'Argentinian power hitter with no skill'...but that is unfair.
He is more patient, more intelligent and has better ring craft than Maidana. I think he hits harder, too. Why that fight hasn't happened in Buenos Aires I don't know as it has classic written all over it. But anyways, I think Matthyse beats Lamont Peterson and runs Garcia close. Give him his shot. Matthysse KO 10 Ojuse
Matthysse is hard and a bad dude and all that...fun to watch no doubt...but he has some glaring flaws, notably his telegraphing and squaring up...
and I can't suffer multiple weaknesses in a fighter gladly...can't do it. Some well balanced boxing with strong counterpunching will exploit and hurt him... |

He will likely decline fairly quickly with age, but he is nothing but fun to watch against anyone, a cut above Maidana right now. I would love to see Broner v Matthysse. |

Matthysse KO 10 Ojuse
Finally watched this fight "on demand" tonight. Another good showing from Matthysse. My only concern about him is that he gets hit quite a bit. Ajose was telegraphing wide hooks and getting them through often. Granted, Matthysse has a great chin but that won't last forever.
I'd like to see Matthysse vs Maidana, Matthysse vs Josesito Lopez or Matthysse vs Garcia at some point. I think all fights would be super entertaining. I think another good move would be for Matthysse to avenge his loss to Judah, a fight that could have gone either way. Another thing I like about Matthysse is that the guy consistently fights a good 3 times per year. |

Got around to finally watching this great fight & performance of Matthysse. Geez! Matthysse can really crack! Gotta have one of the heaviest punches in boxing. Very accurate too.
Ajose was a tricky, tough boxer who stood up extremely well to those power shots. Matthysse needs a big fight asap. His more than earned it & proven he can compete with the top fighters! |
