The new tax rates passed, but there is absolutely nothing about spending cuts. These guys are either a bunch of bumbling idiots, or too fucking arrogant to care.
http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2012/roll659.xml Who voted what!
My Rep voted for it.
I am seeing the GOP catching hell over this. I am not sure but it seems like many, not just normal peeps, wanted to go over cliff. Raising taxes on the middle class would have killed the GOP. I don't know what the answer is but things need to change in Washington and fast!
I wanted to go over. It would've sucked in the interim, but that's better than sucking for a slower and longer time.

Quote:NEW YORK (AP) ? New York City police say a young woman stumbling around on a Manhattan subway platform not far from Times Square fell onto the tracks and was killed by a train.
The accident happened at around 5 a.m. on New Year's Day at the No. 2 line station on 34th Street and Seventh Avenue. That's one stop from where revelers gather in Times Square to see the ball drop.
Police say the victim was in her 20s. Her name wasn't immediately released.
Subway deaths are common in the city. Last year, according to a report in the Daily News, there was about a fatality a week.
But track deaths have been getting extra scrutiny in recent weeks after two men were shoved to their deaths in December.

Enough is enough. These public transportation trains are a death trap. All public transit should be banned. No more trains, no more death. It's the only way.

This "fiscal cliff" compromise is stunning. Not only does it NOT protect the "middle class"... because payroll tax cuts were not addressed therefore taxes will go up on 77.1% of all Americans, but it DOES provide special interest tax breaks. Oh, and it gets better because the bill, while doing nothing to cut spending actually increases federal spending.

I've never stated in this thread that I was "happy" with our government.

And the subway thing has got to be the most assinine comparison I've ever seen if that was somehow supposed to be in relation to gun laws.
