RE: Politics Unfiltered
I think maybe they'll push Bernie to the forefront.. he's been alot more vocal and snippy lately. Clapping bacc at several opponents. He's def trying to do a 180 to the old nice man imagine he was mostly portrayed as in the media...

I like Bernie, simply because he reminds me of a nice old uncle.. the one you dont take too serious and just kinda smile and nod when he says or does something crazy.. lol

They aren’t going to push Bernie. If they were, they’d have done it last year. It will be Gropin’ Joe or Fauxahontas.

You would have to think there is something going on there. Its just such an odd situation. One description I seen of it was that we will be sat telling our grandkids about the politics of this era in 40 years time and they will say "shut up you fucking liar"

Anything fro this current era will seem ridiculous in 40 years.

“Dad, is it true that people used to didn’t know the difference between men and women?”

“Dad, is it true that people used to think walls were racist?”

“Dad, is it true that people used to see nothing wrong with grown men sharing the bathroom with little girls?”

“Dad, is it true people used to call you a racist or sexist if you disagreed with anything a black person or girl said?”

Yes, son. I’m afraid so.

So I can't clearly articulate my beliefs solely because *you* say so? Lol. Have you considered that perhaps the problem is you fail to comprehend what is being relayed? Or, perhaps you have asked the wrong question? Or, better still, your mind reading abilities aren't quite up to par?

It is a hallmark of leftism.
Is it? So, you have a degree in Politics and/or Psychology?

I'm not on the left. I promise you..

I'm not "nearly everyone." Left and Right represent extremes - and those who blindly subscribe to such ideologies are extremists. Extremism does not require action. It only requires blind faith.

I regard your definition of a "straight answer" to mean that you're looking for me to confirm whatever prejudice or bias you currently hold. Everything isn't black and white - there are many colors in between. Just because you don't approve of how I answer your question - that doesn't mean you weren't given a straight answer. Maybe the issue is that you need to look beyond your prejudice and bias..

I don't subscribe to the idea that a particular issue is "left wing" or "right wing". I use critical thinking and I like to make my own determinations based on the facts.

(09-03-2019 11:36 AM)Warlord Wrote:  And again, it isn't a criticism. It just makes it easier to communicate. When you don't clearly articulate why you believe the things you believe (murky and vague were the words you used earlier, I believe), it's easier to let it go if everyone knows you're a leftist, because then you'd just be doing what is in your nature.
Your determination that I haven't clearly articulated my beliefs is a matter of opinion, not fact. You are welcome to have your own opinions but you are not welcome to have your own facts. Lets deal with the facts, shall we?

As a left-winger, I'd do no such thing, as leftists don't think, they just feel. And I'd know to just let it go, as I simply don't care about your feelings.
Two problems here; First, I'm not a "leftist". Second, making broad generalizations like "leftists don't think, they just feel" is a logical fallacy and represents an extreme point of view.

No, you can't articulate your beliefs because you still haven't gone on record with even one position you personally hold on anything whatsoever.

Quote:Have you considered that perhaps the problem is you fail to comprehend what is being relayed?

There's nothing to comprehend because you haven't stated one political belief that you hold.

Quote:Or, perhaps you have asked the wrong question?]/quote]

I asked you to share one belief that you hold that you think isn't a left-wing position? That seems to me to be a quite reasonable question to ask someone who claims they are not a leftist.

[quote]I'm not on the left. I promise you..

Then what positions do you hold that you believe aren't held by the left? What policies do you support that you believe are not espoused by the Left?

Quote:I'm not "nearly everyone." Left and Right represent extremes

No, they don't. The extreme left and the extreme right represent extremes.

Quote:I regard your definition of a "straight answer" to mean that you're looking for me to confirm whatever prejudice or bias you currently hold.

No, I'm looking for you to provide at least one belief you hold politically. Just name it. I'll provide a list of questions at the end of this post.

Quote:Everything isn't black and white - there are many colors in between.

I am kicking myself for not going with my gut instinct. When I read your last post filled with vacuous nonsense, I was going to ask you why you didn't trumpet the tired leftist trope of "no blacks and white, just shades of grey." Shame on me for not doing so.

Quote:Just because you don't approve of how I answer your question - that doesn't mean you weren't given a straight answer.

I asked you to name one position you hold that you believe isn't held by the Left. You didn't answer the question at all, let alone straight.

Quote:Maybe the issue is that you need to look beyond your prejudice and bias...

What prejudice or bias would that be?

Quote:I don't subscribe to the idea that a particular issue is "left wing" or "right wing".

I don't care what you "subscribe" to. There are clear differences in thought between left-wing ideology and right-wing ideology.

Quote:I use critical thinking and I like to make my own determinations based on the facts.

Could you give an example of this, as it relates to politics?

Quote:Your determination that I haven't clearly articulated my beliefs is a matter of opinion, not fact. You are welcome to have your own opinions but you are not welcome to have your own facts. Lets deal with the facts, shall we?

For someone who used the word "facts" three times in a single paragraph, you have provided remarkably very little in regard to them. What facts, pray tell, do you think you have stated?

Quote:Two problems here; First, I'm not a "leftist". Second, making broad generalizations like "leftists don't think, they just feel" is a logical fallacy and represents an extreme point of view.

For whatever reason, you have steadfastly refused to provide any actual positions you hold on political issues, so I will provide you an easy set of questions to answer. If they are too difficult for you, I can boil them down to yes or no questions.

1.) What is your position on abortion?
2.) What is your position on the second amendment?
3.) What is your position on white privilege?
4.) What is your position on systemic racism?
5.) What is your position on police brutality?
6.) What is your position on gender? Specifically, do you believe there are more than two genders?
7.) What is your position on biological males using women's bathrooms?
8.) What is your position on biological males competing in women's sports?
9.) What is your position on immigration, both legal and illegal?
10.) What is your position on border security (including a border wall)?
11.) What is your position on the national debt?
12.) What is your position on federal deficits?
13.) What is your position on big tech censorship?
14.) What is your position on capitalism and the free market?
15.) What is your position on socialism/communism?
16.) What is your position on student debt?
17.) What is your position on affirmative action?
18.) What is your position on welfare, social security, and other entitlements?
19.) What is your position on free healthcare?
20.) What specific policies of Donald Trump did/do you disagree with?

Those are twenty questions. You can answer any and all that you'd like. And if possible, could you tell me the name of one Republican or Libertarian candidate you have voted for in the past, and why?

1) People with penises ought not make decisions about the vagina
2) The people have the right bear arms - just in case we need to forcibly remove the govt. This is clearly the original intent for the Second Amendment - and I agree.
3) White America likes to pretend as if it doesn't exist.
4) Systematic racism is alive and well. The very fabric of so-called "Western Civilization".
5) Police brutality against African Americans is nothing new. The camera phones are new.
6) Male and female last I checked.
7) If you have a penis then use the bathroom for people with penises.
8) See #7
9) Europeans were the first illegal immigrants.
10) A secure border is important.
11) The rich are hellbent on making this a Third World country.
12) See #11
13) I'm a firm believer in the 1st Amendment. Corporations see the free exchange of information as a threat.
14) Capitalism is Satan's sacred geometry.
15) I see no appreciable difference between Capitalism and Communism as they are practiced in the 21 century.
16) The cost of "higher education" is beyond ridiculous.
17) You can't address the problem of racism with more racism.
18) They could do away with it tomorrow and I really wouldn't care. They should start with cutting off the corporate welfare.
19) It's about time we joined the rest of the world with what I consider to be common sense.
20) Unconditional support for the Zionist state, policies on Iran, relationship with the Saudis, suspect allegiances to foreign entities - just to name a few.

I do not vote.
