If you click on the "show results" to the threads poll you will see that JD, Rom, the conscience and the fonz were the only 4 on these boards that voted for Ortiz!

I agree that AJ is the only boxer right now that can beat Wilder!

LOL. I’m pretty sure he knew who I voted for.

I’ll vote against Wilder every time, even if he was fighting Cletus Seldin.

He walked through Jennings far better then Klit did JD...

40-0 with 39 kos. What quality opposition has he faced, Ortiz? His best win is Tony Thompson. Wilder's first real opponent was Malik Scott and he's pushing 30 fights as a pro at that point.

You could argue Harrison or White Wolf were his first real opponents....

Chris Arreola walked through Eric Molina far easier than Wilder.

Neither of those men were able to walk through Wilder though.
Arreola is a much more of a come foward fighter who puts more pressure than Wilder.

Wilder unlike most KO punchers isn't trying to get you out of there in a hurry. He is happy to let the KO come to him and then gets wild when he sees them hurt. By saying that, he runs the danger of a fighter who waits too long for that 1 punch, picture perfect KO and becomes a fighter who doesn't throw enough as he should at times.
Rewatching the fight, although Ortiz was still doing better, Wilder was always calm and never showed frustration even when he was getting outboxed by the Cuban.

Although Wilder's technique is far from great his hand-eye coordination is top notch. Although his balance, positioning, distance and even feet can be off (the canvas) he still has the abillity to hit the target. People go on about his power but the man has some accurate hands and is a smarter fighter than his style & rep suggest. He has become more of a wild counter puncher who waits on the outside.

The first KD was awsome. You can see Wilder that round testing n sussing that very shot out. He sees Ortiz stepping in with his attack and then times a big right while stepping back out of range of Ortiz attempted shot. Counters the counter puncher!

Deontay needs to make his jab his main punch while picking up the pace just a bit and he'd become even more dangerous than what he already is.

It was a joke. Please don’t ever analyze Arreola or Molina on here - they are garbage. Wilder is garbage as well.

Aint that shit he should have learned after 9 years and 40 fights?

Dicc, Wilder never priced himself out... they never even really started negotiations.

DiBella read outloud letters from Barry and Eddie Hearns...

Barry and DB worked out some terms and Eddie swooped in and took over and began ignoring DiBellas calls and emails...

This was at the tail end of the Ortiz Post Fight Press Conference.
