That's what I saw as well. He kept that pawing jab just in range enough that Ortiz didn't see the right behind it. He certainly doesn't snap the jab but he does use it nicely when it comes to setting up the right.

Not to say that Wilder doesn't jab but he barely jabs & when he does it's not much of one!

One thing Wilder has never gotten much or any credit for is his hand-eye coordination..he's a very accurate puncher who doesn't waste alot of shots (& energy). This has always been the case with both his left & right!

Many have noted his footwork & how off balanced he is when he throws & goes "wild". However..regardless of whether they're power shots from either hand or not..or whether he was off balance, wrong distance, feet planted or not, Wilder is most likely gonna land when he does throw!

Wilder's jab does find the mark but barely throws that punch & hardly EVER throws with any intent. Most times Wilder will jab to keep his opponent off him & instead of using that punch to create distance he oddly does so by pawing.

Wilder's pawing is to keep his opponent at his preffered range & keep them off rhythm, also uses his left to swat his opponents glove away.

Barely any jabbing though! Doesn't throw it, snap it, shoot it, fire it away, doesn't step in with it..nothing tricky or menacing about it!

Wilder should be jabbing more inbetween all the measuring, paws, swatting. With more intent & purpose too!

Wilder needs to develop a jab because he paws more which could completely backfire on him. His right is always loaded n ready to go, but that weak left creating distance could also be creating distance for his opponent to slip/step into!
If there is ever a punch that could end Wilder's reign it will be the left hook.

Wilder not only needs a jab..he needs feet that can go back. Like Pacqiuao/Spence..Wilder doesn't like being backed up because he can't throw on the backfoot. By saying that, Wilder can barely have stable enough footwork to stay upright when moving back!

Numbers coming out saying Wilder/Ortiz 2 sold over 275k units for 21mill in PPV with a live gate 4mill.

Pretty good numbers considering Ortiz has no fanbase, cant promote himself or speak english and this was a rerun of a fight ending in KO..

Yea JD looks like we figured 250k was for the win.. I think its decent considering the circumstances I mentioned.. still kinda meh.

Wilder/Fury did 325k, so that atleast tells us Wilders brand is growing or Fox did actually pull in some viewers for him.

You gotta think Fury/Wilder 2 does atleast 500k...

At this point can we say Wilder is the bigger draw between him and Fury? Or is just a product of advertising and opponent?

And what of Wilder vs Spence as the big American Draw?

Didn't Fury/Wallin do crazy bad? And Schwarz was really bad too.

I still think Wilder has had the worst management compared to Joshua & Fury! Wilder has had to work for his work the most!

Wilder was well into the 30 fight unbeaten mark and barely getting tv fights and NOBODY outside of diehards knew who he was. He was managed terribly especially being an Olympic medalist he should've had clout from day 1. He needs to be out here on late night shows and radio shows getting his name to the everyday people. Here's an American heavyweight champion of the world 42-0-1 and there's still people who have no idea who he is......wtf.
