Martinez is bigger than Mayweather but he isn't a big dude. he might be 5'10" and weigh 175. either way there are weight classes and not size classes. if you can hit the weight you can fight there. Mayweather/Martinez at a cw is a fair fight but Mayweather would never take it, he knows Martinez would beat him. Mayweather might talk the skills pay the bills shit but he wont back it up.

Mayweather beats Martinez 11 out of 10 times. Not even close.

If Mayweather was half that confident they'd be fighting May 4.

Great question...
The size difference would be insane.

are you fucking with us, Marv? i can give credit where credit is due with Floyd, the guy has some of the best timing I've seen. sure there isn't footage of some fighters but i've watch a lot of fights from every era. i'm not even being a hater saying Martinez would beat him. but JR? that dude has to kill himself to make 160 and he can take a decent shot at mw, no way i see Mayweather beating him.

Chavez Junior is a giant.

Had he been able to beat Martinez, THAT would have been the monster fight for Floyd.

Problem is Floyd can't get his respect and Chavez is more than happy to just hit whatever is there and keeps coming all night. I tend to think the size would be too much for Floyd to overcome and he would eventually succumb to the pressure.

I agree that Chavez would keep coming as he wouldn't respect anything Floyd throws at him but I just don't see Chavez walking him down. Floyd is too smart for that. Floyd would move and give angles and if Chavez did get close, Floyd would tie him up. It would be an ugly fight in which Floyd would receive no credit for and get accused for running.

just my opinion though.
