Canelo: Greatest Mexican fighter ever?
Is Canelo on his way to becoming the greatest Mexican fighter of all time? Or is he already there?
Juan Manuel Marquez happens to think Canelo is!.. Although Canelo hasn't necessarily taken on everyone at their best..but win, lose or draw Canelo has compiled a mega resume! Baldomir N'Dou M.Hatton A.Gomez Cintron Mosley J.Lopez Trout Mayweather Angulo Lara Cotto Khan Chavez Jr Golovkin x2 Jacobs Kovalev Canelo has the accomplishments & numbers but does he have the career, opponents & wins to rival past Mexican greats? If not, is Canelo greater than De La Hoya?? Odd thought! |

RE: Canelo: Greatest Mexican fighter ever?
Since we can never know how many of his fights he was juiced for...including last night...that answer is a resounding no, regardless what he does.
Practically speaking, he does not have one non controversial win over a prime great fighter...so it’s a more resounding no. |

RE: Canelo: Greatest Mexican fighter ever?
When he beats Jorge Kahwagi then we'll talk about him being the greatest Mexican fighter ever until then sit down Clenelo.

RE: Canelo: Greatest Mexican fighter ever?
He still has a long ways to go. If he can beat Gilberto Ramirez, Callum Smith, Beterbiev, Bivol, Benavidez, and Plant...without ridiculous stipulations...then maybe so.

No way in hell. He couldn’t carry Chavez’s jockstrap.

Chavez is waaaaaaaaay ahead of him.
So is Vicente Saldivar. He's more along the lines of Barrera, Morales or Canto. Which is still very good. Black |

RE: Canelo: Greatest Mexican fighter ever?
I don't feel Canelo is the greatest Mexican fighter of all time. However, before we've even realized he has now made an argument to be within the discussion of past Mexican greats.
Canelo may certainly go down at the best of his generation! |

The same very argument you make on why Mayweather and Pacquiao are so overrated with their 'deceiving' resume on opponents that are disadvantaged But Canelo compiles a mega resume and he is in discussion as the greatest Mexican fighter? I just realised you have Matthew Hatton on Canelo's resume You forgot to add Larry Mosley (Shane's cousin) and Miguel Cotto's brother Jose on the list |
