RE: Potential Mayweather-McGregor numbers.
There's a clause in the contract that if McGregor throws/lands anything other than a punch, he forfeits 75%-100% of his purse.

I bet there ain't nothing in the contract about Floyd putting Conor in a rear naked! Wink

I think they call that move 'the Ellerbee.'

Fuck NSAC for sanctioning this sideshow.

Correct. Floyd may not be the biggest puncher but he has plenty enough to keep bigger guys like Oscar and Canelo off of him with ease. Putting a complete novice in with him is actually detrimental to Connor's health.

Agreed and to add to the mix the fight was an absolute stinker. A lot of casual fans got burned but that experience and I'm sure many will be reluctant to be fooled again. A quick question for you Yanks. How much are MMA fights on PPV over there? Are they significantly cheaper than boxing or about the same? Will a casual MMA fan be prepared to pay boxing PPV prices? I'm actually thinking that it will do great business but will under perform by expectations.

McGregor-Alvarez was $59.99 for HD / $49.99 for SD

By comparison, May/Pac was $99.99 for HD / $89.99 for SD. This was the most expensive boxing PPV that I have seen.

Well, May/Pac was an exception, wasn't it? Aren't they usually in the $49.99-59.99 range? I guess in this instance it won't matter much cuz May/McGregor is gonna be at least $99.99, if not more.

All heart. That's what most little guys are.
But that counts for a lot. In the gym or
the ring all you gotta do is get up
one more time than the other guy thinks you can.

Yeah, that's why I used it as the comparison point. That's the price point that I expect to see this fight sold at.

Me too, I was just curious to see what type of price-point appetite MMA fans will have for this fight.

RE: Potential Mayweather-McGregor numbers.
Mayweather was paying $1.13, he is now out to $1.18. I can't believe more idiots are betting McGregor than Mayweather at those odds. hahaha, free money to take the opposite side!!!! I might see it if drifts any further before I put the sportsbook bank account on it!

I reckon this will break the Pac-May PPV record, but not by much.

Bookies are taking bets on 12 rounds, has the number of rounds been announced yet? If this is 12 rounds, the likelihood of it going the distance diminishes considerably.
